Dielectric Polymers Announces Functional
Splicing Tapes Holyoke, MA - July 2005 – For efficiency in splicing roll label stock and other substrates to be coated with pressure sensitive adhesive, Dielectric Polymers, Inc. introduces two new tapes, NT-9511-2SW and NT-9512-2SW. Both tapes are constructed with blue silicone adhesive on a polyester film backing that has a specialized release coating on the backside of the tape to allow adhesive to release at the splice area. These tapes provide splices that do not need to be removed from the web, eliminating label loss which is a critical factor in sequential label and automatically applied label applications. With no liner to remove, these tapes save time and offer ease of use for one-step splicing. NT-9511-2SW and 9512-2SW are cost effective, reducing material waste and improving yields by reducing lost labels. The specialized release coating maintains registration through the splice and provides easy removal of the matrix. Strong splices are assured since these tapes are constructed with an aggressive adhesive that “grabs” quickly and a high tensile film backing. These tapes are also ideal for wrapping idlers and other in-process rolls that come into contact with adhesive, enhancing operating efficiency. Small Quantity Distributor of INTEGRAL* Adhesive Films from Dow Holyoke, MA - July 2005 - Dielectric Polymers, Inc., a manufacturer of pressure sensitive tapes and films, has complemented its line of adhesive products with the addition of six heat activated dry films. The Dow Chemical Company, based in Midland, MI, has selected Dielectric Polymers as its distributor of INTEGRAL Adhesive Films for small quantity sales in North America based on the Company’s converting capabilities and responsiveness in the marketplace. INTEGRAL Adhesive Films are dry, non-tacky adhesive films that are activated by a combination of heat and pressure. These films can be activated through lamination including hot roll, belt, flame, calender and sheet processes. Continuous and piece molding operations are also used to apply the adhesive to various substrates. INTEGRAL Adhesive Films offer end users performance properties such as U.V. and chemical resistance, dimensional stability, barrier properties, scratch and puncture resistance as well as strength and toughness. These heat activated dry films offer easy storage and handling in addition to design flexibility. Dielectric Polymers carries INTEGRAL Adhesive Films in various colors and thicknesses with a variety of activation temperatures to meet specific application needs: · INTEGRAL 801 provides adhesion at low temperatures for bonding
temperature sensitive substrates such as synthetic fabrics. It is also
used in refrigerator liners and as a protective film for scratch resistance.
This adhesive film has FDA compliance for specific direct food applications.

technical data sheets, please click on www.dowplastics.com Visit us at NPE 2003, The World's Plastics Showcase Dielectric Polymers and Stik-II Products, Divisions of Adhesive Applications, Inc., will unveil new high performance tapes for the plastics industry at NPE 2003, to be held at McCormick Place in Chicago from June 23 – 27. More than 2,000 exhibitors are slated to feature product innovations in the automotive, appliance, medical and packaging markets, among others. With more than 90,000 industry professionals from over 100 countries expected to attend, NPE 2003 promises to be the world’s largest plastics exposition of the year. Dielectric Polymers will introduce a new silicone/acrylic double coated tape, NT-1020, designed for bonding silicone coated substrates to non-silicone coated substrates. This tape offers plasticizer migration resistance on the acrylic side and bonds well to low surface energy materials on the silicone side, making it ideal for use with various plastics. High adhesion, solvent and temperature resistance are additional benefits for membrane switch assembly and other specialized bonding applications. Stik-II Products will present a line of aqueous-based adhesives offered in acrylic and an acrylic/rubber hybrid coated on open and closed cell foam. These products are used in automotive applications for noise, dust and vibration control. Roll products are supplied in longer length rolls and spools for in-line application to plastic extrusions. In addition, several double coated Mylar® tapes coated in various adhesive gauges and designed to provide aggressive adhesion will be featured. Dielectric Polymers and Stik-II Products, divisions of Adhesive Applications, Inc., will exhibit at the National Design Engineering show at McCormick Place in Chicago from March 3 - 6, 2003. The show is part of National Manufacturing Week, the only national forum of its kind which hosts six trade shows in one targeting all aspects of manufacturing including design engineering, plant engineering, automation and IT solutions. National Design Engineering is the largest OEM event in North America, featuring up-to-date information on engineered materials, components and tools used in mechanical and electromechanical design and product development. Although Stik-II Products has participated in this show for over 20 years, 2003 will be the first year that Dielectric Polymers has exhibited.
Stik-II Products will feature several double-coated polyester tapes constructed with aqueous-based adhesive coated in 1.5 and 2 mil thickness on 1 mil polyester film. "In the marketplace, we are generally known for polyethylene foam tape," said Judette Savino, National Accounts Manager. "However, we are expanding our product line to meet other needs in the industry." These double-coated film tapes are formulated to provide aggressive adhesion for general purpose mounting and bonding applications. DPI Specialty Tapes S.L. serves the photographic mini lab market with splicing tapes manufactured by Dielectric Polymers in Holyoke, MA. These tapes are used for splicing negatives to a plastic leader card before it is fed into a printer processor to produce prints. Because the negatives travel long distances at high rates of speed through the machine, the tape backing must have high tensile strength to resist breaks. Also, the adhesive system must provide fast, strong adhesion and remove cleanly from the leader card to eliminate leader card clean-up. Dielectric Polymers' photo splicing tapes featured at Photokina are constructed with silicone adhesive on a polyester film backing for high performance. They also offer chemical resistance and easy dispensing for operator efficiency. DPI Specialty Tapes, S.L. acts as Dielectric Polymers' European distributor, providing converting capabilities and stocking industrial pressure sensitive tape products for quick shipment to customers.
