Tape manufacturers merge to provide expanded capabilities

Easthampton, Mass. - July 2002 - Michael Schaefer, president of Stik-II Products, Inc. of Easthampton, Mass., announced the purchase of the stock of Dielectric Polymers, Inc. of Holyoke, Mass. from Park Electrochemical Corp. on June 27, 2002. Stik-II Products, Inc. is affiliated with the October Company, Inc. of Easthampton, Mass. A holding company, Adhesive Applications, Inc., was formed as a result of the acquisition. Lawrence G. Kuntz, president of Dielectric Polymers, Inc., will serve as president of the new holding company and will oversee the operations at both facilities.

Adhesive Applications, Inc. joins the assets of two tape manufacturers with more than 50 years of combined experience as global suppliers to the pressure sensitive tape industry. Stik-II Products, Inc. manufactures foam tapes for mounting, bonding, gasketing and sealing applications for use in the automotive, electronic, plastic molder/extruder, appliance, furniture and door and window manufacturing industries. Dielectric Polymers, Inc. produces high technology adhesive tapes and films, serving the graphic arts, powder coating, aerospace, electronics, automotive, appliance and industrial splicing markets.

Both Stik-II Products, Inc. and Dielectric Polymers, Inc. will continue to operate at their respective locations under their current business names as divisions of Adhesive Applications, Inc.

This partnership presents many opportunities in terms of expanded product lines, added production and converting capabilities and custom product design potential. The commitment to quality and service will continue to be the main focus of both companies.
